Cargo flow: from origin to destination

Origins, loading and transfers provide a useful way to break a freight journey into parts.

OFFICIAL INFORMATION · PRE-RELEASE

Cargo waits at its origin and is not assigned a destination when produced. Industries have loading docks; extra stations and specialized modules offer different handling trade-offs. Modular warehouses support transfers and storage. The blog describes 37 cargo types in four categories: liquid, bulk, flatbed and goods.

Map the handoffs first

Our schematic deliberately uses generic locations rather than inventing a production recipe. Draw the origin, any transfer and the receiving destination, then add the transport links. For each handoff, write down what you would need to observe: available cargo, vehicle compatibility, waiting, and onward movement. This creates a troubleshooting checklist without pretending to know the best commercial route.

Editorial perspective

Distinguish a missing connection from a slow connection. Both can produce an empty-looking destination, but they require different investigations. Before increasing the fleet, establish whether the cargo is moving through every stage at all. This is a proposed diagnostic order, not a tested optimization strategy for the game.

What a useful future benchmark includes

A freight comparison should use the same map, demand, settings and observation window. It should record costs as well as delivered quantities, and explain any changes to the rest of the network. We have not measured a warehouse’s break-even point or a fastest loading configuration. Use the official blog for the announced mechanics and this worksheet to organize your own observations.

A note on evidence

This is a source-based pre-release explainer. Editorial suggestions are proposed ways to investigate the game, not verified gameplay results.
